PTSD Support for Survivors
Whether you have chronic or acute PTSD, this page is for you
“Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished: If you're alive, it isn't.”
Nothing is permanent in this wicked world - not even our troubles. The road may seem endless, but always remember we are warriors not worriers! Fight for what you believe in, but believe in what you are fighting for. Never give up hope. The sun always shines, even though it may be cloudy. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Each day is a gift from our highier power, and a chance at a new beginning. Every event that happens contains the seed of limitless possibilities for our future. Freedom is what you do with whats been done to you, we all have a testimony to share that may bring encouragement and enlightenment to others.
Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it. Having PTSD, we're all survivors in one way or another, and we are in the process of recovery. Although its not easy on the road to recovery, change will come. Never give up hope.
About recovery.....to recover is to reclaim, to take back, or to find. If we had a new model car and misplaced the keys, do we not have something to find? When we're sick, do we not want to get well, to recover? We're not alone in recovery, we're recovering with one another, through word and prayer. We are recovering, I am recovering, and we will continue to recover. Because if we say that we're not recovering, then we're saying we have nothing left. We don't want to suffer as we recover and look to new horizons, but we have to expect growing pains like those in our muscles. When we begin to stretch and excersize, using muscles we may not have used that often, it hurts; but the pain diminishes and they strengthen. Recovery isn't something we have to do alone, we have the support of others. There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up. Recovery can begin today!
These are the words that I live by: When things go wrong as they sometimes will. When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill. When funds are low and the debts are high. And you want to smile, but you have to sigh. When care is pressing you down a bit. Rest, if you must, but don’t you quit. And never look behind from where you've been, always look forward.
Thankyou to our servicemen and women...
